Location
In the center of the Cyclades island complex, between the deep blue of the Aegean Sea and the azure of the clear sky, lies the island of Naxos, waiting for you. Diverse and staggering, bathed in pure Greek light, carrying myths and more than ten thousand year old traditions as secrets that Naxos sets softly in its golden beaches and tall mountains for the visitor to unveil.
The villages either lie sprinkled throughout the island by the cyan waters of the Aegean or up in the majestic mountains, being spots of warm, honest hospitality and gastronomic delight for the visitors. The white-whashed houses shine under the sun, the narrow streets always lead to a small square, where children play in the day and festivals are organized at night with food, drinks and dance till the break of dawn.
Near to the town of Naxos and a stone’s throw from many of the well-known beaches of the island but far enough from the busy touristy areas, lies Vivlos or Tripodes, a village that is full of life, as it is being inhabited all year long and can give the visitor a true taste of Naxian hospitality. The traditional village provides necessary services such as a church, a doctor, a pharmacy, a bakery, a supermarket, a hair salon, free parking etc., and of course, taverns serving local food made with products from the island.
Distinct features of the area are the traditional windmills but also the imposing church of “Panagia i Tripodiotissa” (dedicated to Virgin Mary) in the entrance of the village.
